I sure missed my kids being home with me. As I watch their eyes light up when they understand a new concept, I am reminded of just how special this time is. I am so blessed, and so thankful, to be a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom.
Over the next few weeks we will be doing a unit study on the Holocaust. What a sad time that was. There is something very intriguing about that time, as well. Something that makes you want to learn more, read more, talk about it more, and share more….. There is something about Hitler’s rise to power that draws you in. How did Adolf Hitler – a high school dropout, an art school failure, an angry extremist – have so much following? He found his place in leadership at the perfect moment — when Germany was scared, when their economy was at its worst, when people wanted “change”. It sounds very familiar. I didn’t begin this study thinking of President Obama, but have found the similarities to be many. The US is scared, our economy is wavering, people want “change”. I want to scream out to my fellow Americans and make them see…. We cannot find our hope in a man — a man who is talking so much and saying so little, a man who is promising change and has never specified what those changes will be, a man who is so public and has so much to hide. We can only find our hope in Jesus. How can people let go of their beliefs? How can a Christian vote for a man who believes in murdering babies? Or a man who doesn’t believe that the covenant of marriage is only for a man and woman? People let go of their beliefs many years ago, put their hope in a man – Adolf Hitler, and look at where it lead them.
I will be praying for President Obama — that he will be radically saved. What an awesome testimony that will be for Jesus!! What a true “change” that would be for America!! I will pray for my fellow Americans — that they will not turn their backs on their beliefs…that they will hold our president to higher standards, that they will see clearly and not be confused.
May God bless the USA!
In Him, Beckie
